Anybody looking to publish a horror novel? Evil Jester Press is accepting open submissions until August 1st! I’m going to try to finish mine in time, but I don’t think it will happen. Maybe I’ll look for one of those off-season alternate Nanowrimos I’ve been hearing about…

Uh… I don’t think there’s anything else new… Oh! We’re going to be at Matsuricon again this year! NNFB and me. I’m going to host my own photoshop coloring panel this time, specifically on coloring for comic books. And of course our Legend of Korra panel! This year we’re going to have another trivia contest like for our airbender panels in years prior, with prizes to boot! Will you have to recite a haiku from memory? Who knows! We certainly don’t yet!

Anyway, that’s all for now. I plan to start livestreaming pages on a regular schedule, but I won’t have one figured out for a while yet.

So I’m not gonna make any promises here… cuz you can see a few posts down what happens when I do that. But I’ll just say, the good intentions are still there, and there have been some great changes in my life recently. So I hope this is the start of something.

Anyway. Yes, I have a livestream!! My internet is really sad, and has this habit of cutting out, so if you see a bunch of 30 second clips and one big one, watch the big one.^^ Until I can upload the saved videos in whole (which my internet won’t currently let me do) the cut up vids will have to do. Try and catch it live via my tumblr or the chat box here if you want to see the whole thing straight through! No set time when it happens yet. We’ll see.

Okay, so, I have been up to many things. Too many things. I color comics and now I also work with a small comic epublisher, for starters. But today I want to tell you all about Hi*Fi’s Kickstarter!

Hi*Fi colour design, the comic book coloring studio I am very proud to work for, is celebrating its 15th anniversary with an anthology, Untold Tales! Many of Hi-Fi’s current and past members are contributing short stories to this anthology, including The Flash writer Brian Buccellato, studio founders Brian & Kristy Miller, Marvel colorist Jason Keith, IDW artist Dave Bryant, and more. I too will be contributing a story, a 6 page horror called The Splitfaced. To see a teaser, go here.

This is an ambitious project, and we need your help! Go to the kickstarter page and pledge, or spread the word by liking the facebook page or retweeting this. We have until December 13th to get funded for printing, please help us get there!

So how long was that hiatus, eh? It was so long, it started before NNFB announced it was going on hiatus, and lasted until after it was on hiatus! It was so long, during that time I got a job, lost that job, got that same job back, and then lost it again! It was so long, just, whatever, it was long! But it’s over now, and if you all are willing to read some more, I’ll be posting them.^^ It’s time to get this darn thing underway!

A little while ago, I tried a month long polyphasic sleep experiment. I actually succeeded at it and everything! But I decided to forgo it for regular sleep, because while six 25 minute naps a day spaced over 4 hour cycles may sound feasible on paper, in reality it’s extremely inconvenient. I mean, if you have ANY friends who like to do things, it makes life extremely awkward. In any case, I’ll be trying biphasic instead soon.^^ Three hours at night and one 1.5 hour nap in the day sounds much more doable. Though convincing oneself to get up at 6am when there’s no obvious reason for doing so… is difficult.

I’m sorry for the continued absence! I guess White Noise has been on an unofficial hiatus. >_> Longest one yet, too. Bleck. Rest assured though, this is absolutely a FINITE hiatus. See, I managed to land a real comic book coloring job, on a title that happens to be MY FAVORITE THING. We’re entering crunch time next week, so I’m going to vanish again for another month, but I should be back after that.^^ Page 6 of WN is drawn and half colored, but I’ve decided several panels are crap, so that needs fixing. Don’t know if I’ll have a chance during crunch time, though…

Okay, so, two or so months ago, my cat who I’ve had for 16 years got very sick, and we learned he has lung cancer. At 16, he’s really to old for any sort of treatment. Then, at Midwest Furfest, while wondering if he would die before I got back home, I get a phone call that my new job, the one I’d had for all of three months, had ceased to exist. I was already depressed about my cat and about not selling a single thing in artist alley, so you can see the spiral that got started. I spent the next month trying to do artwork for everybody I know for christmas (cuz you know, no job, no money), none of which I succeeded in finishing. Then the week before New Years I got the worst case of stomach flu I’ve had in years. One of those stay-up-all-night-vomiting deals. Finally, after New Years I developed acid reflux for the first time in my life and spent three days being strangled by invisible rope!!

Hehe, what a great story. But anyway, our large extended family Christmas party went off splendidly, New Years was great and I was recovered enough to enjoy it, my acid reflux has mostly gone away, and my cat is still miraculously alive. But over all, I just had a lot of shit to worry about these last several months. So, sorry I’ve been away, but you understand, right?

It’s a new year and I’m feeling pretty good. Let’s make it an awesome one!

Also, I have these t-shirts I can’t sell and can’t stand to look at anymore, so they’re going on sale now. The Death One, which is now $5, and the Kutner One, which is now $8, not counting shipping. This is how much these shirts cost to make, and I refuse to sell them for less. You see, I hate these shirts so much, I will gleefully burn them before I lose money on them.^^

… things to talk about, things to talk about… I KNOW! I have a job now! Yaaay, job. Uh… what else. What else, Mindy? There’s nothing else, I’m a boring person.

Okay, I DID break my toe recently. It was the 4th toe, so there’s nothing that could be done about it, and it was on my right foot, so driving to my new job has been AN ADVENTURE. But it’s about healed now. I was going to get a picture of it and put it online so everybody would have to look at my beautifully colored toe, but yeah. I forgot. And now it’s about healed. No pics, so I guess it didn’t happen. But, then… why does my toe hurt??
